For over a decade I have given myself a challenge to read at least one work by every winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. I was able to find Nobel authors in dollar bins at northern Indiana bookstores surprisingly regularly. Since the Nobel status was printed right there on the cover I didn’t have to gamble on whether the dollar book was a dud or a banger, the Swedish Academy had already done the work for me, thanks.

Le Bon Nobel is now a project to help me think more critically about each reading and the author behind the work. I’ve never been great in school at book reports and don’t expect to start now. By formulating my thoughts here I hope to be able to think more deeply about each reading and remember my experiences in literature a little longer.
